Favorite Summer Hang-outs

Hi y'all!
I am almost out of school for the semester. This is pretty bitter-sweet...I will be transferring to a different school in the fall, as well as moving into an apartment about 45 minutes from my family and closest friends. I am excited, but also sad that I will be leaving my current campus, which I love, plus I won't be able to see my friends as often. In order to stay close to my friends and still get to hang out often, I like to plan last-minute get-togethers throughout the summer. Here are some of the things we do, as well as fun places we like to go. Feel free to use our ideas, and please comment on this post if you try one out :)

 * Pool Parties - These are uber-easy to plan if you have a neighborhood pool. Just invite people over, get some pizzas, or ask your guests to bring munchies and drinks. We play lots of fun group games, such as Marco Polo, Sharks and Minnows, and Categories, plus we usually have some fun races or 'best jump' contests.

 * Girls' Tea Party at Aristeacrats! This Lawrenceville tea shop is the best place to hang out, get some iced or hot tea, and talk for hours ('cause of course, we are girls. We talk a lot).

 * Bonfire Party - Best for spring or fall when the evenings are a little chilly. Build a bonfire, eat, and run around playing games. We like to play Man Hunt (a manly name for Hide and Go Seek) and several other versions of it, such as Mass Murderer and Sardines. Plus, end the night around the fire playing Apples to Apples, a fun card game.

 * Game Night - Get your best friends together for a night of fun games. Play some fun games, such as Catch Phrase, Apples to Apples, Spoons, and Would You Rather. Make sure you have popcorn, pretzels, and lots of sweets available.

Let me know which party idea you like best. Have fun with your friends this summer :)

It's that time of the year again!

Teens, you know that feeling...school is almost out, and you want some great summer adventure to make this summer one to remember. Plus, you really could do with some $ for college. Never fear! You have come to the right place :)

The summer is a great time to get outside of your comfort zone and get a fun job! Building your resume will help you out down the road, and getting a summer job will help you meet new people, have new experiences, and make $ so you can have more fun in your free time.

Why stick to the normal jobs that EVERYONE applies for? You'll have a better chance of getting the job if you are creative and find a job that many people may pass over. This was my goal last summer, to have an Odd Job Summer Adventure (hence the blog). I challenged myself to have 10 odd jobs over summer break. I ended up enjoying 7 odd jobs (working around all those work schedules is a challenge in itself), and I had the time of my life. Why not check out my job descriptions to see if there is one you might like to try? Go over to the right side of this blog and click on a summer month to have easy access to my job descriptions. Let me know if you try one of these jobs! I would love to hear how it goes :)

Thanks for reading :)
