Update on my life

Here's a quick update on what's going on with me right now...

Since my last post, I have survived my coffee strike =D LiNK was able to raise more than $40,000 by this past Tuesday, which will fund the rescue of 16 more North Korean refugees, so it's back to coffee for me. There are way more NK refugees out there that need our help, though. To keep donating to this great cause, go to my fundraising page at http://www.stayclassy.org/fundraise/link?fcid=129849.

I'm still working hard as a banquet server. Yesterday, I worked as a hostess at our Thanksgiving Buffet, which was a blast. It was nice to be a hostess for a change, but I still really enjoy serving. I look forward to going to work each week...schoolwork seems to fill up my life, and going to work is a break from all the math, chemistry, and reading assignments. Plus, I enjoy the social side of it too. It's nice to hang out with my coworkers; they are all really nice.

The fall semester of school will be over soon! I'll miss my awesome lunch period with 12 of my best friends, but it will be nice to have a break from the stress of homework.

Although I haven't had time to read any fun books lately, I've been listening to lots of music in my spare time, especially when I'm driving to school or work. Some favorites right now are "Stereo Hearts" by Gym Class Heroes ft. Adam Levine, songs by Christina Perri, and the Misfit album from Youth Explosion.

Recently, a friend of mine told me about 180movie.com. I watched this 33 minute movie with my mom and sister, and we were astounded at how awesome, powerful, and bold this movie by Ray Comfort is. Please check it out and let me know what you think.

I'm looking forward to volunteering at the Processing Center for Operation Christmas Child (a project of Samaritan's Purse) with some of my friends! It's not to late to sponsor a shoebox for a child in need - check out samaritanspurse.org.

Now, back to my physics project....have a great day!

On coffee strike...

As of yesterday, I am officially on coffee strike. You ask, "why would a college kid be okay with giving up coffee?!" Well, because I know that there are a ton of North Korean refugees in need of rescuing right now, and this is something I can do to help. Along with other supporters of Liberty in North Korea, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing NK refugees, I am giving up coffee until the funds are secured to rescue the 16th refugee. It takes $2500 to rescue each refugee, and LiNK has raised enough money to rescue 14 refugees on the next mission. They need $4062 more to make that 16. If you want to help a refugee have a new life of freedom (and help me get my coffee back), check out my LiNK page at http://www.stayclassy.org/fundraise/link?fcid=129849. Read my story, watch the videos, and consider giving a few bucks to change someone's life.

Thanks!
